About Andrew L’Esperance

Born and raised on the East Coast, Lespy has been chasing his dreams since he started racing bikes when he was 12 years old. Growing up riding rugged terrain in Nova Scotia, while being supported by an incredibly tight knit cycling community, Lespy has never stopped moving forward. Addicted to pushing limits and chasing growth, the pursuit of potential drives Lespy to dig deep within himself and provides no shortage of motivation.

Lespy has become a professional athlete through hard work and exhibiting grit when faced with the inevitable challenges of this pursuit. Although there have been many times when quitting seemed like the best option, he has persevered and owes the incredible experiences he has had in sport later in his career to this sticktoitness. He owes credit on this path equally to every individual that came on board and contributed to his journey in a multitude of different ways, not to mention his family and his three older brothers. He has balanced progress in sport with education, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University, and currently working through the Certificate in Business program through Queen’s Smith School of Business.

A believer in leading by example, giving back and doing the right thing, Lespy supports the communities and organizations to whom he owes his success. He is currently serving on the Cycling Canada Athletes’ Council to bring a voice to the athletes to help shape the direction our our national sport organization. Previous to his position on Norco Factory Team, Lespy ran a successful MTB development team, Forward Racing-Norco, that supported himself and several other athletes through a spot on the team or the Forward Racing Development Fund.

With aspirations on both the World Cup circuit and in the realm of other pursuits and adventures on two wheels, Lespy’s journey is just beginning and he cannot wait to see where it will take him.
